Fun on the slopes, the ski circus, après-ski… all that can of course be enjoyed in the surrounding ski areas. But Eppan and the Montiggler Lake can offer an attraction of a completely different kind. In winter an satisfying silence hangs over the lake.

The municipalities along the South Tyrolean Wine Route also consider the quieter times of the year. South Tyrol’s south then appears cosy and warm, while the climate is still pleasantly mild. Within 30 km of Montiggl there are numerous ski centres, offering you the choice of a different skiing area every day:

Ice skating

Both the Montiggler Lake and Lake Kaltern are favourites with skaters in winter! Children and adults alike can enjoy gliding across the frozen surface. But Nature is the main attraction. truly a special experience!

Christmas markets

Everything is quiet, while Christmas is in the air, eagerly awaited! Attractive stands offer traditional, handmade products of wood, glass, ceramics, charming Christmas tree decorations and delicious Christmas cakes and biscuits! Kaltern offers a small but idyllic Christmas market during December weekends! Bozen is on a rather grander scale: the Waltherplatz hosts Italy's most traditional Christmas market, while the Meran and Brixen markets are both just 50 km away!

City & snow

Combine your ski holiday with the shopping and culture to be found in the city! Bozen is just 10 km from Montiggl and offers wonderful shopping and cultural attractions. Italian boutiques contain the latest clothing and shoe fashions plus a vast choice of accessories, while culture is catered for by the theatre, the Museion, the Ötzi museum and numerous art galleries.
