The cycle paths in Eppan and around the South Tyrolean Wine Route are well-known for their natural beauty and the attractiveness of the landscape. They lead through scented orchards, colourful vineyard terraces and offer marvellous panoramas and viewpoints. There are routes of all degrees of difficulty, as well as pleasant panoramic tours. The Grand Montiggler Tour
22.8 km – 2:12 hrs – 640 m climbing
The Grand Montiggler Tour starts from the car park next to the old station in Eppan and heads towards Kaltern. You can of course also start from the Seehotel Sparer on the Montiggler Lake. The route soon leads off the main road and then heads on Path 23 towards the Montiggler Seen (Lakes) and then towards Montiggl Dorf (village), continuing in the direction of Pfatten and Girlan until the end of the tour at the station car park in Eppan. After some 2½ hours you are back at your starting point. The tour takes in conifer plantations via steep tracks, forest trails, metalled roads and woodland paths. A wonderful bike tour through the nature of southern South Tyrol.
