The municipality of Eppan hosts proportionately the largest number of castles and palaces in South Tyrol. A fairytale atmosphere hovers over the gentle vineyard landscape. Stately residences and lofty castles tell of a turbulent past. Some are still inhabited, others are run by local bodies and many can also be visited.

Towards the south the landscape opens up to warm climes, while in the north the lively regional capital of Bozen invites you to visit, while the mountains watch over the sides of the long valley.

Wine is a pervasive theme here! Each municipality has at least one wine cellar offering outstanding red and white wines. The smart villages along the South Tyrolean wine route offer visual treats and experiences for every taste – what a wonderful place!
In the midst of the unique symbiosis of nature and culture that is to be found in this protected natural area are the two Montiggler Lakes and the Seehotel Sparer.
